Needy Lover is Kallan Dana, Hanna Yurfest, Jonah Harrison, and Emma Richmond. We make funny tragedies.

Our work is formally experimental but character-driven, highly referential, and interested in nostalgia and legacy.

Most recently, we produced the world premiere of Lobster by Kallan Dana at The Tank, which was described as a “truly exceptional piece of writing, direction, and performance” by Vulture’s Sara Holdren, and was named one of the best plays of the year by Vulture/New York Magazine’s Sara Holdren and The New Yorker’s Helen Shaw.

We also curate and produce community-based events such as the Syrup and Candy New Play Reading Series (a weekly showing of new plays), MEGA Theater (an in-progress theater/performance showcase), and 93.6 Days of Summer (a summer-long social media experience). We founded and lead The Tank’s artist collaboration group, TAG.
